Amir Khan’s harsh words towards those who ‘hate him’ – Boxing News
Following his devastating knockout defeat at the hands of Danny Garcia, former IBF and WBA light welterweight titlist Amir Khan found himself amidst heavy and bitter criticism from fighters, former fighters, fans and even his own friends. However, the Bolton
proud has managed to throw their criticism back with his bold words.
“Haters only hate when they jealous or u made it,” said the former champion through his Twitter account.
He added, “At 25 Im former 2 time world champ and being olympic medalist at 17. Maybe its my Success tht kills people + there's more success to come. Even ur own hate It makes me laugh, they will never be me! Or experience my life. I love it.”
Khan is a former two-division world champion and Olympic silver medallist. He is among the most known faces of boxing in the world.
“Haters burn and say what u gotta, Every1, gets beat in life its how u bounce back. No1 got a bigger heart or balls then me,” the British-Pakistani boxer added.
Khan locked horns with Danny Garcia, the then WBC light welterweight titlist, on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The Bolton proud was hopeful of defeating Garcia to unite the unbeaten American’s WBC title with his WBA light welterweight
title. However, the fight went unexpected and Khan was knocked out in the fourth round.
It was Khan’s second consecutive defeat after Lamont Peterson last year and his second ever knockout defeat following the knockout defeat at the hands of Breidis Prescott in 2008. Overall, the Brit now has 3 defeats in his portfolio.
Khan was hopeful of scoring a rematch against Garcia but the American’s camp denied it. Instead, Garcia chose to go head to head against Mexican fighter Erik Morales.
As of now, times are tough for Khan. The Olympian was once dreaming of taking on American unbeaten fighter and the current WBC welterweight titlist Floyd Mayweather. However, after his defeat to Garcia, his dreams have shattered.
Khan is now looking forward to build his career from scratch. He wants to ensure he overcomes all his weaknesses before he faces a strong opponent like Garcia once again.
