Amjad Khan joins Sussex
England fast bowler Amjad Khan has just signed a three-year contract to play for Sussex from the 2011 season.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 has won promotion back to the first division of the county championship, and moved quickly to secure Khan's signature. Kent said that they would not be renewing Khan's contract at the end of this season, making him a free agent.
Khan said, "Sussex have a great reputation for supporting and developing their squad and I am excited about the prospects for the rest of my career as I have no intention of being a one-cap Test cricketer."
This is a very positive match for both http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 and Sussex. The pace bowler currently has one Test match cap to his name, and hopes the move will help him move toards playing for England again. Khan is fast, aggressive and has the ability to increase gate receipts
for Sussex. Khan is coming to the Sussex team to replace the influential http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Kirtley-c1648, who has announced that he would retire at the end of this season.
Khan will have a fresh start, and will be hoping to make an impression on the England selectors after a frustrating season at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kent-c802. Khan has no baggage with Sussex, and can look forward to hitting the ground running.
For the 29-year-old Khan, this is likely to be his final career move. He will put a lot of effort towards his new team, and if it isn't enough to get him an England re-call, then he would have done everything possible to make it happen.
He added, "My nine years with Kent have been fantastic and it was a wrench to leave, but I have come to the point in my career where I need a new start and a fresh challenge."
