Amla and Kallis make Pakistan sweat
The South African pair of Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla combined together to the Pakistan bowlers a run for their money in a daunting partnership of 163 runs. In doing so, the duo is on their way to score hundreds.
Hashim Amla struck a measured 85-run innings as he milked the bowling to gather ones and twos. The master batsmen played with composure and showed great technique to assemble his runs.
Jacques Kallis has been instrumental in South Africa’s all-out attack against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755. The right hand batsmen displayed his innings to show complete application on a slow and turning track. He struck 8 crisp boundaries and 2 huge sixes to rack up his runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 closed the 3rd day on a decent score line of 139/2 with the overnight batsmen mustering a worthy partnership of 73 runs.
This time around, the duo made sure that there is no further debacle, like the one they had in the first innings.  Kallis ended the lunch session in the 90’s, heading towards his 35th Test century. Amla, who is having the time of his life, will
start the proceedings unbeaten, on 85 runs.
Pakistan bowlers had to toil hard in the deserts of the Middle-East as none of them picked up a wicket in the first session.  Abdur Rehman bowled superbly without taking a wicket, though his figures might not reflect his bowling display.
Moreover, Saeed Ajmal bowled without much luck as a couple of chances went down begging off his bowling. The off-spinner troubled the South Africans with his mean
doosra's but wasn’t lucky enough to pick up a wicket on day 4.
The wicket keeper, Adnan Akmal has been disappointing behind the stumps. Pakistani bowlers created a massive number of chances with their controlled bowling, but Akmal was unable to pouch a single one.
Previously, Pakistan ended the 3rd day taking two wickets. Alviro Peterson missed a straighter delivery from Rehman which struck him right in-front of the pads to get him out leg before wicket.
Furthermore, Ajmal brought about the downfall of Graeme Smith with an absolute floater which turned away from Smith, who went for a slog sweep against the turn but missed it completely.
South Africa is in a commanding position as they have gained a massive lead of 271 runs. The Proteas are all set to muster up a massive 2nd innings score. Pakistan will have to put up a remarkable effort with the bat to match the opposition and
eventually save the test match.
