Amla named in the South African T20 squad against India
Hashim Amla, the prolific batsman for South Africa has been included in the squad to face http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in the upcoming one-off Twenty 20 international match at Kingsmead. The only T20 match between the visitors and the home team is going to be played on 9th January.
Amla’s great run of form in One-day international cricket earned him a place in the T20 squad. In 2010, the right handed batsman has been one of the most consistent performers for the Proteas. Hashim has racked up 1058 runs at an average of 75 with five
centuries, in 15 games.
In addition, it is the way he dominates the bowling attacks around the globe and his brilliant array of stroke-play that makes him, currently, one of the most feared batsmen in the game. The batsman's technique is backed up by superb placement and timing,
the two features that go well in hand. Amla's strike-rate of 94 runs per 100 balls is a great evidence of his aggressive nature and ability to baffle the bowlers in order to take the game away from the opposition.
More importantly, the game in Durban will be remembered as Makhaya Ntini’s farewell match. At Kingsmead, Ntini will be seen in South African colours for the last time. The right arm bowler has been a great servant for Cricket South Africa and is the second
highest wicket taker in Test cricket for his country. However, this year, he announced his retirement from international cricket in November.
Ntini played his last cricket match at the elite level against England in December, 2009. He featured in the Boxing-Day Test and as a result of his dismal performance, was dropped for next game.
Meanwhile, the South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis and the new-ball pair of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn have been rested for the twenty over encounter against the tourists. At the same time, the explosive opening batsman Loots Bosman has been dropped
from the final squad.
Andrew Hudson, the chairman of selectors said, "We have decided to rest Kallis, Steyn and Morkel because of the heavy workload they have had in the Test series and the important roles they will have to play in the ODI series against India as well as in
the World Cup.”
