Amla won't go back to Nottinghamshire
Nottinghamshire's Director of Cricket Mick Newell has revealed that Hashim Amla will not be back at the county before the end of the season.
The South African top order batsman has played part of the current season for Notts along with their other overseas player, David Hussey. However, Amla has commitments for his country and has said that he will not be able to play for the county again this year.
Newell said: "Hashim said he can't come back because of various South African commitments. David won't be here for the season but we haven't secured a replacement yet. David will be ruled out for at least the last two games of the season so we are are in the process of looking for a replacement."
The news will be a big blow for Notts because Amla is very experienced in terms of playing in this country. With a number of their players also regularly on England duty it means that the squad is going to be very stretched by the end of the season.
Experience and responsibility

He's scored centuries during both spells in England and his growing experience at international level often means he is more able to attack lower quality bowling on the county scene. He was also one of the players in the Notts team who could perform under pressure and get the side out of trouble.
When you combine this news with the fact that Notts are often missing Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann and Ryan Sidebottom due to England duty, it's very easy to see how the squad will be stretched by the end of the season. However, they have managed to cope without these players for long spells in the recent past.
The county would have been hoping that they could have at least kept one overseas player under contract but Hussey will have to leave because of similar commitments to his country.
