  1. First, use the spell checker, we all make occasional spelling errors but you are terrible at spelling and grammar!! ;0)

Ammo: any good quality hollow point will work well for self defense. The better ones are  Hornady TAP,Remington Golden Sabre's,  Federal Hydra shok, and corbon, just to name a few.

For practice, use the least expensive FMJ (also known as ball) ammo you can buy.

Silencers are strictly controlled by the BATFE. Yes, if you are a legal, law abiding citizen and have no felony convictions etc, you can follow the steps to buy one. This includes making sure you live in a state that allows it, that you purchase a legal suppressor, that you fill out the paperwork and application, that you pass it, and that you pay the fee/tax stamp. Then, you will have to replace the barrel on your Glock with a longer one that is threaded to accept the suppressor.

  2. Ammo:

    Target: Fiocchi 45ACP 230gr FMJ

Defense: Hornady 45ACP 200gr XTP-JHP (+P loads are available too)

Extended magazine: 25 round magazine is available. Not sure how reliable those magazines are because I've never tried them. 13 rounds is plenty for me.

Suppressor: You'll need to buy an after market extended threaded barrel. Sound suppressor and threaded barrel are not available in all states. You better check local laws first.

  3. The highest power 45ACP ammo is "+P" or "+P+".  Glock is kinda funny about the ammo you can use and whether or not it affects your warranty.  Read the owner's manual, especially the section about ammo.

One thing you cannot use without voiding the warranty is reloads or handloads.  IIRC, non-jacketed loads are verboten as well.

The smoothest and most accurate loads are low-energy lead semi-wadcutters.  These fall into the non-jacketed class.  You might try the Hornady TAP line with the truncated cone bullet.  They get excellent reviews in the accuracy department.

  4. Check out www.ammoman.com for 45 ACP ammo.  Most commercial ammo is loaded as hot as you need.  If you want extra hot, then Corbon ammo might be it.  http://www.dakotaammo.net/ .  MidwayUSA has extended mag wells for Glock magazines.  I have not seen 20-30 mags like those made for others like the Browning.

If you want to put a silencer on it, then you need to live in AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MT, NE, ND, NV, NH, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, or WY, as these states allow unlicensed civilians to own silencers.  You can find a dealer here; http://www.subguns.com/c2c3/c2c3.htm .  To buy a silencer, first you pick one out and pay ($500-$700) for it.  The dealer will give you an ATF form 4 and you bring it to your local sheriff for his signature.  The dealer then sends in a the form along with your passport sized photos, fingerprints and your check for $200.  If your sheriff will not sign, then you can form a trust to own the silencer for you.  A trust does not require the sheriff’s signature, fingerprints or photos.  ATF approval is routine and takes about 1-2 months.

You will need an extended threaded barrel to mount the silencer.  They are easy to find online and cost about $150 and up.   http://www.ftfindustries.com/Threaded%20... .  Due to the weight of the silencer, the pistol will not cycle properly unless a recoil enhancer (neilson device) is used.  These cost about $250 and up and are available from most silencer manufacturers.

A silencer is not going to suppress muzzle blast noise by more than 20-30 decibels.  The pistol will still be about 125 decibels, but you will not need hearing protection.  Due to the large bore required to pass the 45 caliber bullets, they will be noisier then any 9mm and 22 caliber suppressed pistols.  Even so, it is very nice to shoot a pistol without ear plugs.  Check out AAC, AWC, Gemtech and others for good silencers.  Good luck.

  5. I shoot federal and remington 185 JHP back and forth all the time. I have shot Fed Hydra-shock and Win Black Talon (I feel these two are gimmicks and really perform like regular bullets) A waste of money for these "Premium Bullets".

Then there is 230 Ball ammo always reliable and good practice rounds.

  6. remington gold sabre i hear is good

  7. I used to have a 21 but now I have a 30.For plinking I use Independence or PMC it is the cheap stuff but it has brass reloadable casings. For what I use when I carry or self defense I use Federal hollow points or flying ash trays, also Rem Gold sabers are really good too.
