Ammo shipping laws in California?

i wanna buy some bullets off of amazon.com...would it be legal to buy them and have them shipped here? their .22 long rifle

  1. Ammunition is a class 1.4 explosive. It can be legally shipped by FedEx / UPS etc, but not by the US mail. The person doing the shipping, though, must be certified to do so. I'm sure that any ammo company selling their product online is familiar with the rules and knows how to do it legally.
