Ammonia removal tablets?

my tank has had a few very small symptoms of rising ammonia levels is it ok to put the disolving ammonia removal tablets in with the fish still in the tank

if the ammonia isnt that high dont put the tablets in.

if it was me i wounld do any thing but if you are really concerned u could do a 20% water change. make sure you let the water your going to put in the tank sit over night.

I have never used the things, and never plan on it. It is best to avoid using medications and other chemicals in your tank if possible. And you can avoid using them in this case. I would honestly recommend doing some water changes (not vacuuming the gravel or cleaning the filter) and change about 50% today, then every day for a week after that, change 25%. And yes it is safe to use ammonia removers when the fish are in the tank.
