Unfortunately the rate of extinction we humans are causing is among the worst the Earth has ever witnessed! Humans are pushing animals towards extinction and the dangers that threaten the survival of animals and plants have been encreasing. Habitat degradation is one of the major causes of biodiversity loss on a global scale (also including pollution, illegal trafficking of wild and exotic animals, ect.). I’m Brazilian and Brazil is considered to have the greatest biodiversity of any country on the planet. Even though it is among the countries with the most endangered or threatened species whereas most of the animal species in the world live in the rain forests. And guess which part of the world is disappearing the quickest??? It’s extremely sad to imagine what we’ll leave for future generations...

But now tell me what is the most interesting and fascinating animal for you? Why?

  1. Renata BC ...

Of America to Asia, of North the South, the illegal traffic of animal livings creature, blossoms.

The consuming market is the private collectors, laboratories of research, store of animals, zoos, circuses and until healers of Asia.

It is the third bigger business in contraband after drugs and weapons.

The dealers combine naivety with desumanidade in the methods of disguise of the animal luggage/.

The majority of the specialists in unmasking the animal traffic agrees that the best strategy is to acquire knowledge the purchasers and not selling them (therefore this traffic is extremely lucrative for they).

The animal that fascinates more me is the cats!

    Curiosidades on cats ...

These fascinating and místicos animals always call me the attention.

It very exists to say on the *******, below has some interesting curiosidades on this bichinho so fôfo.

The old Egyptians had for the cats a worship as if they were Deuses.

  2. i love frogs, they are as unique as humans.  different kinds and colors and they have different protective mechanisms.  it fascinates me

  3. The most fascinating ones are the ones that we aren't quite sure are extinct, like the Steller's Sea Cow. People thought they killed the last one a long time ago, but there have been sightings over the years. Another example is the baiji.

  4. man

  5. The most interesting and fascinating animal for me is the octopus.

It is the most intelligent invertibrate on Earth.  Not only is it consciously able to change colours and patterns using its brain (not as a reaction to stimuli like a chameleon or snake), it also has the ability to solve complex puzzles and problems confronting it.

When I was at University there was a serious security issue at the Life Sciences Building: exotic fish, urchins and shellfish were going missing from a highly secure marine lab.  For weeks this kept happening even after they had posted guards in the building.  Finally they placed hidden cameras in the tank room and in the morning got the shock of their lives:  an octopus was opening its tank, dropping down onto the floor, crawling about 50 ft to the tank with the fish, up the side and into the fish tank, eating its fill and then completing its "commando raid" by returning to its own tank before anyone was the wiser.

  6. Menina poliglota hein!!!!

Renata, I'm a biologist and i think all Creation is beautiful and should be preserved at all cost. Still, my work is with insects.

I believe insects are the most beautiful animals in this planet and without a doubt they are the most important for the maintenance of most ecossistems!

There are about 300.000 species of Coleopteras in the world (betlles), some of them live in an extremely narrow enviroment. And everyday (literaly everyday) new bettle species are described!

If we take down a pach of wood to build houses to plant something or just to get the wood it is ver likely that we are exterminating an undescribed species of insect that we will never know anything about!

Still, some insects will survive no matter what (cochroaches flies and mosquitoes), they are not endangared or anything...

    Paz de Cristo

  7. Dinosaurs..  I mean you hardly ever see them anymore.  If we don't immediately get rid of all our cars, shut down all corporations and live in harmony with the environment these beautiful creatures could be gone forever!
