  1. Err...if she's having trouble with reading, the most helpful thing you (or anyone else) can do is to simply spend as much time as possible reading with her and reading to her.

LessOn plans would just be a distraction.

  2. Read with her as much as you can! Don't think of it as lesson time, but more as something fun you can do together.  You don't want it to be a chore and she wants to have fun for the summer.

The library is great if you can get there once a week or so to get more books. Most libraries have a "I can read" section of the children's Library, those are great for kids who are just starting to read. While you are there, ask the Librarian about the summer reading program. They will probably be giving out prizes and such for reading over the summer.

You can also let her play at starfall.com

If you cant get to the library, try googling for Free online kids books and go to sites like http://www.magickeys.com/books/  they have many fun books with pictures right online.

Play sight-word games together!  There are ones you can make and ones online. If she likes crafts, she might have fun helping you make the games too.  I have a couple here but you can google sight word games for tons more.  http://www.quiz-tree.com/Sight-Words_mai...

  3. Why not just sit and read with her? You really don't need lesson plans, just use books she already has or borrow ones from the library that have good stories or are about things she's interested in.

  4. library!

  5. The best way to help her read is to read with her. There are quite a few beginner books out there. Just go to the library for the books and that should help. Another thing to consider is making sure she understands her phonics. Go over her alphabet with her and instead of using the letter names, use the letter sounds. That should help her.

    Good Luck!
