Question:

Amoxicillin and saliva went straight to my eye...??

I was giving my dog amoxicillin syrup orally as prescribed by the vet, using a syringe. While he swallowed most of it he coughed in my face and a drop of syrup went straight to my eye. Will it get infected? Is it likely?

I washed my eye but I doubt that does anything.

  1. Worst case scenario, you'd wake up with pink eye.  I mean, I'm just a high school senior, so don't take my word as Law or anything, but since amoxocillin is an antibiotic, I doubt that anything'll happen to you.  Whatever was in your dog's saliva would be the culprit of an infection.  Just watch out about touching that eye and then the other, just like with pink eye.

  2. Dont worry even if your dog's saliva was infected, dont forget it was with amoxicillin (an antibiotic)

Just as a precaution wash your eyes thoroughly with drinking water.
