Amp and subwoofer question PLEASE READ!?

I have a sub enclosure with 2 12 inch subs. There is only one input for both speakers (a Positive and a Negative terminal). The subs can handle 500 watts rms at a final independence of 4 ohms. I am looking at a 2 channel amp that puts out 500 watts rms x 1 at 4 ohms. So if I get this amp and bridge it will each sub be getting 250 watts rms?

  1. Correct, you will get 250w RMS to each sub with a 500w RMS amp.

Here are some amps that will work for you...

You can also get a monoblock amp that is 500w RMS at 4 ohms.

    Good Luck!!!

Edit: I re-read your question and was wondering a few things.  When you say the subs can handle 500 watts RMS at 4 ohms do you mean when the subs are wired together or each?  I was assuming you meant that when they were both 250w RMS and when wired together you got a final impedance of 4 ohms.

Edit: So what's your question?  That amp would give each sub 250w RMS which would work perfectly.
