  1. your sony is not actually making 1200 watts it will be fine. just dont turn your level up to the point that its no longer putting out a clean signal

  2. The purpose of the gain (level control) is to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp to prevent clipping (damage by over powering).

Here is a guide that will help you set the gain correctly http://www.datafilehost.com/download.php...

You'll need a multi-meter (AC voltmeter), Microsoft Excel and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3.

If you don't have Excel, use this link http://www.box.net/shared/nkkw1dhk4g

  3. yes they will no issues,

however here's the deal, run the amp at its RMS rating, for the load you are providing. the most that amp puts out is 500 watts RMS TOTAL. understand that doubling your power is not doubling your volume, in fact doubling power is only a 3db gain. to get "twice as loud" you would need 4X the wattage, that my friend is scientific fact. what can make a difference even more so tha a larger amp is a proper enclosure. a SPL designed enclosure for the subs can gain you 3-6db EASY... thats like 2-3 times the power. and near twice as loud (10db).

and a cusom made enclosure will cost less than a new amp... without the need for electrical upgrades. SPL competitions are won by design savy people, not tossing money at amps and subs

Set the gains properly and it will give you years of use
