Question:

Amp problem with subwoofers???

my amp will not turn on i checked all the fuses and wires and there still all connected i have had it hooked up for a while but took my speakers out now when i put them back in for some reason the amp is not turning on..i had this problem before but it was just a bad connection by the battery i tryed that this time but no go..do u think i need to try scraping the battery end cause maybe its gunky and not going through or what??

  1. Definitely clean the battery terminals if they are dirty. Also make sure the connection is tight, if it has any play or movement in the positive your amp might not work. Also check your ground wire. Ground should be connected to raw metal and tight as well.  If there is paint it needs to be scratched off and connected to raw metal.  The best ground is the frame of the car but not always easily accessible. Bad ground connections are more common problems then positive connections.


  2. mix water and baking soda in a cup, mix itand pur it over the battery terminals ( simple acids and bases). After it is done fizzing ... rinse with water and then try.
