Amp question?

I just bought 2 15 inch kicker subs and a nice box to go with that. Now I need an amp. What amp should I consider and where would be a good place to look? I've already been to circuit city and best buy and the nice ones are like 5 or 6 hundred dollars. Could you give me numbers for what I should look for such as ohms, watts, and price. Also, what else should I do to complete my sound system. Should I get a capacitor and upgrade my battery and alternator? And, where is the cheapest place to set everything up. Thats a load of questions but hopefully somebody can help me out.

  1. well you need an amp with more watts then the subs so add up your watts and then  look 4 that and ebay has new amps 4 great prices so check them out. i got my amp witch has 1400 watts on ebay for only 80 bucks and its a pyle amp.. i hope that helps you out a lil bit

  2. nah don't buy them there those places are bettter if you want to buy a laptop or a tv or something

look at the subwoofer specifications either on the back of the subwoofer the box or the manual that came with it try to get an amplifier that is the samw watts rms as the watts rms of the subwoofers then make sure the amp has the same ohms as the subwoofers

ex: subwoofers with 400 watts rms  and 4 ohms independance

need an amp that's either a 2 channel amp with 400 rms per channel since you have two subs and the amp has to be 4ohms because so are the subs

or an amp that's one channel and produces 700 or 800 watts rms

try to match up the rms power to atleast 70% of the way

    no more than 10%
