Amp to my unpowered Sub?

I bought a new Home theater receiver, however my klipsch speakers have an unpowered subwoofer. Can i use an audiocourch amp 100 (http://www.amazon .com/AudioSource-Amp-100 -2-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00026BQJ6)

To plug my subwwofer into then plug the amp into my reciever? Is that how it works?

  1. Use a line level signal from your home theater receiver, most have a dedicated subwoofer out. Use a patch cord to go from there into a line level input on the amp you are powering the sub with. Use Y-adaptors as needed in case you have only a single sub out on the home theater amp and want to use both channels on the sub amp, you might have to if the sub has two inputs, - right and left. Now that the signal is getting to the sub amp run speaker wire or wires to the sub, depends if the sub is one input (mono) or two input (stereo). Now you should be set, just remember to reduce the volume on both the home theater receiver and the sub amp when powering on or off.
