Amp wont turn on in 03 cavalier?

i just bought this car and moved the wiring and head unit from my old car after purchasing the clip. i just didnt wire the remote wire to the clip from the head unit i wired it directly to the amp from the back of the head unit, and it wont turn on so do i have to wire it to the clip and if so how?

Do it this way, Run the remote wire directly to your battery but have a switch in there somewhere easy to reach from your drivers seat, then when you turn your car on just flip the switch and your amp turns on, plus if any cops are around you can just flip your amp off and you don't have to worry about getting a ticket.

are you sure you wired it to the right wire, some harnesses have different remotes then others. what you should do is wire your radio like you dont have a amp. then splice into the automatic antenna wire behind the headunit (usually blue with most aftermarket wireing harnesses)
