Ive tried a couple times now to put an amp in my cousins avenger and it wont seem to work. All the cables are hooked up right and the amp is getting power. The sub just wont produce any noise. Does the car have a built in amp that would interfer?

  1. even if  there was an amp hooked up. an additional amp thats after market can still be connected. but what sounds like to be the problem is that your RCA cables or interconnections if theres no noise that means theres no signal being transfered from your head unit to your amp check your RCA cables and if there not connected then theres your problem.

also make sure that the power cables and RCA cables are NOT running down the same side. power wires creates interference that the RCA's can pick up.

also check the connections from your amp to your subs or speakers to see if there properly connected right ohm set up proper plug-in(negative-negative, positive-positive)
