Question:

Amperage related question for smart electrician people?

So pretty much my dog chewed through the charger adapter for my PSP, and I found another adapter in my draw which fits it. The Voltage is the same (5V) but the amperage is slightly higher (2A to my PSP's 1.2A). Does a difference this slight matter? Or will I have to fork out the $30 for a new adapter?

  1. i think it still works. basically, A or ampere is an electric current that will flow to your PSP's circuit. since its 2A, then the W of your replacement charger would be greater. it may work coz it is still has an output of 5 volts. i havent tried it yet but since we are dealing with handheld electronic devices, better get a new charger. some chargers will do work even though they were not the same charger used on a particular device. but in due time, the device will probably malfunction or maybe possible be short circuited.
