Question:

Amplifier Puts Out A Loud Hum Sound?

I have a vintage (1970's) yamaha CR-1000 amplifier. The other day, I left it on (wasn't playing music or anything through it), and it just started making a really loud humming sound.. I rushed to the amp and turned the volume all of the way down, but it still makes a really loud humming sound. Any idea's on what it could be?? I'm assuming the power supply is fine, cause the amp still powers on fine and obviously has the power to belt out such a loud hum. What else could it be??
