Amplifier Question!!!?

OK i have the Kenwood 9103D mono amp hooked up. The amp is 1800W with 500 rms x 1 @ 4ohms and 900 rms x 1 @ 2 ohms.

setup:

I have two 4 ohm subs in a ported bassworx box, and each sub has it's own set of push-post terminals. I didn't bridge the subs in the box or anything, just hooked them up normally.

My amplier is a mono amp (it says RIGHT ON IT, so if anything sounds off, its just the way I'm describing it) but it has two sets of positive and negative terminals on it, so it's like this:

["-" sub1] ["-"sub2] ["+"sub1] ["+"sub2]

1. with this setup does the rms wattage mean that each sub is getting 500 watts rms, or 250 rms ?

2. Is this the best way to have everything set up, or is there a better way? Thanks.

  1. 450 watts each...

the sub1 and sub 2, are just branches of the same terminal to hook up multiple voice coils (as you have done)

wiring them parallel, the amp sees a 2 ohm load...

yes, this is the best way you can have it set up...
