i recently purchase a sound system to put in my 2004 Grand Prix. i'm a little low on funds, so i've decided to keep the factory head-unit. is there an easily-accessible place where i can plug the blue 12v remote turn-on wire (that sends the signal to the amp)?

  1. YOU COULD GET THE REMOTE SIGNAL FROM THE FUSE BOX IN YOUR CAR BUT YOU WILL NEED A LIGHT TESTER IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE YOU CAN BUY ONE AT ANY ELECTRONIC STORE OR AUTOPARTS STORE, TO FIND THE SIGNAL. TO DO THAT LOCATE YOUR CAR FUSE BOX,  LOOK AT THE COVER IT SHOULD SHOW YOU WHICH FUSE IS FOR YOUR RADIO PULL IT OUT THEN PLACE THE BLUE REMOTE WIRE IN THE SLOT WHERE THE FUSE GOES AFTER THAT PUT THE FUSE BACK .IT MIGHT BE ALITTLE TRICKY TO GET  THE WIRE AND FUSE INTO THE SAME SPOT BUT IT WILL GO IN YOU WOULD JUST HAVE TO FIGURE THAT PART OUT AND IF THE COVER DOESN'T SHOW THE  LOCATION OF THE RADIO FUSE THEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO USE A TESTER TO FIND IT. CONNECT ONE END TO GROUND ON YOUR CAR (ANY METAL SOURCE FROM THE CAR) THE OTHER END WITH THE POINT TAP IT TO EACH FUSE THEN FLICK THE EGNITION SWITCH ON TO ACESSORY THEN OFF REPEAT STEPS UNTILL YOU SEE THE LIGHT ON THE TESTER TURN ON AND OFF  THAT WILL BE THE FUSE SLOT THAT YOU CAN GET SIGNAL FOR YOUR AMP. HOPE THIS WILL HELP.

  3. Try the sunroof fuse, in the fuse box on the passenger end of the dash.  The fuse is usually present even if you don't have a sunroof.
