Amron Lad seeking to attach further victory strings through Andy Fowkes 30th Birthday Celebration Novices’ Hurdle at Market Rasen
Market Rasen will host the Class 4 Andy Fowkes 30th Birthday Celebration Novices’ Hurdle on Saturday, 28th April over two miles and three furlongs. Taking part in the race that carries a £2,924 purse are five four-year and older thoroughbreds.
Only two among the candidates have raced at Market Rasen and even among them only one has been able to get placed in the race that he was a part of.
Cian Boy, Indian Danehill’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Dotty Dee, was placed third in his seasonal debut that was at Market Rasen in the Racing UK Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race on 19th February over two miles and a furlong.
The 8/13 favourite of the race, New Year’s Eve, won the race with Jack Quinlan onboard.
Finishing the closest to the winner was Swinging Sultan. Cian Boy could only manage the third position behind the winner.
His most recent start was at Towcester in the Ladbrokes Game On! Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race over two miles on 26th March. This time Cian Boy ended fourth behind the winner, Venceremos. June French came second while the 9/4 favourite
of the race, Follow The Facts, finished eighth on the field of ten.
The entry who has been progressing gradually during the new season is Amron Lad, Zagreb’s five-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Pear Tart. He has undertaken three starts ever since the season took off and has notched up the rankings from the third position
in the seasonal debut to winning the most recent race.
Amron Lad’s entry in the new season was in the Victorchandler.Com Maiden Hurdle on 2nd January at Ayr over two miles. He finished third as the 6/4 favourite while riding with Jason Maguire.
Getting Ready was the winner of the race while Guess Again settled second behind the winner.
His second attempt of the season was in the Lynn Spowart Birthday Novices’ Hurdle on 3rd March at Doncaster over two miles and three and a half furlong. Amron Lad finished the closest to the 5/2 favourite winner, Aland Islands.
He finally grabbed the long awaited victory on 21st March in the Whizz-Kidz Charity “Fixed Brush” Novices’ Hurdle at Haydock over two miles and four furlongs. He was the 4/9 favourite winner of the race with Jason Maguire onboard.
There remains hardly a doubt in his potential to bag the race today.
