Amsterdam coffeeshops and weed buying

Question

i'm going to amsterdam in a couple of weeks and although i am 18 the person i am going with is only 17. i know that 17 year olds are not allowed in coffeeshops and they can get shut down for admitting underage people. so i'll have to buy the weed and then take it out of the shops so i was wondering what the etiquette for this was and which shops were most laidback about this kind of thing. do they care if you just buy and leave? are they bothered about my friend waiting outside?

You can just walk down the street from the Train Station and you should get at LEAST 5 OFFERS to buy pot or hash before you get past the Princess Hotel.

1) Never buy it off the street.

Too many rip-offs !

2) you wouldn`t have a problem.

Go in, buy, go out.

Now, if you insist on smoking - be aware that there is a large scale smoking prohibition in effect since July 2008.

This means no smoking in public places, such as restaurants, bars etc. (Except outside).

So, be careful where you smoke (anything at all).

As to being bothered - as long as the person doing the buying is minimum of 18 years old, and pays with valid money - it`s all good. It`s often that you see one of a group walk in and the rest waiting outside, so don`t panic.
