Has anyone ever stayed in the roomette on the train? Is it nice?

I stayed in one, but it was 22 years ago. They have had a lot of new equipment since then, so I believe the rooms are better. It wasn't bad, but make sure the cabin isn't sitting over the wheels, it's a bumpier ride

Yes, it is nice.  A sleeping car is the best way to do a trip.
