im going to take the train to reno, while im looking at prices online, there is a place to enter promotional codes. Im wondering what those codes do, if they lower the price or what? If you have a code for me to possibly use, let me know. Thnx

Yeah, they lower the price...try looking online for codes.  I've done it before, but it takes searching and lots of tries till you find one that works.

Codes are usually mailed to repeat users of Amtrak.  Sometimes, a newspaper will advertise a price cut on a certain route with a code.

Hint:  If your trip is over 4 hours, shell out the extra cash for your own room.  The trip is 20 times more enjoyable.
