Amtrak train?

Since my trip is short (4 hours) there is only a snack car

Are they free? If not I'll pack my own lunch yum

nope its a like a cafe you pay at the cafre you dont expect

No, it's not free.  We've done both.  The snacks are decent although a little expensive.  But it works well to pack your own.  We had a great time on the trips with my laptop watching movies.  I hope you have a great time, too.  

Oh, bring a couple of extra snacks and plenty of entertainment as sometimes trains get delayed.

If you have a business class ticket you can get a free drink from the Cafe Car.
