What are the security measures in the Chicago Amtrak station(or any other big train station in the US i guess)? Do they check inside your bags like at airports, or do they send them through a x-ray machine thing like at the airports? Are they gonna make us go through a metal detector or something? I know that that they check us for our ID, but that's all i know. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

  1. As long as you have proper identification you will be able to walk on.

There is basically little or no security.

  2. They don't do much security on Amtrak.  Sometimes they have random checks, but nothing near what airports do.

  3. Just about no security. No detectors, no searches.

  4. Go to Amtrak.Com and enter security in the upper right corner search box. From there you will be able to find a section of FAQ's about security. There will also be other internal Amtrak links concerning their security policies.

  5. The security precautions are less conspicuous than at airports, but they are present nonetheless.   Anyone up to no good is likely to be surprised...enough said.
