Amtrak train rides are boring?

Question

Me, and my wife hate riding Amtrak from Sandiego, to the Bay Area.What are some of the ways we can get some quality sleep if beer doesnt help?

A portable CD player with your favorite CD's. If you really just wanna fall asleep as soon as you get on the train, you can take sleeping pills before your ride.

I take the amtrak often from Portland to Southern CA. Get the sleeper car. Yes, its more expensive but worth the price. I get the smallest sleeper, it also includes all your meals.
