  1. if its only a few more weeks ask to switch he cant fire you for asking + who cares what he thinks? its not a long term job

just make sure you have a reason why!!

  2. Seeing as how there is only 3 weeks left, it cant hurt to ask.  He cant really make things any worse, the worst thing that happens is that you stay where you are.  If you have good people skills odds are they will move you into a higher volume area.  Just make your approach to your manager professional and explain why it is that you want to move.

  3. Most new employees start in the kid area because that's the most hated section by all the other employees.  Speak up.  Tell your supervisor your interest to work in a specific area.  They can only take it as a suggestion.  If they asked you why, then think of a reasonable answer.

Most supervisor know why an employee ask for a transfer.  I used to work in the games department at knott's as a lead and lots of employees were unhappy at their location.  I judge the employee based on if I see them being responsible, can I trust them not to talk more to other employees than the customer, and do they display friendliness.  Once I see the 3 that's when I move around the schedule.  I have to make sure they're not goofing off and actually doing there job.
