  1. kings domanion, even if i never been there cause live by there or its probally to far, iv'e heard its an awsome place

  2. I've only been to Hershey Park when I was 6 or 7, and I loved it! There were a lot of kids rides, and I remember seeing some biggish coasters.

I just looked at the website, and if the 5 year old is a thrill seeker, he can probably ride many of the roller coasters.

  3. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is muchhhh prettier and less concrete-ish than King's Dominion...lots more trees and grass. Everybody [especially at Halloween time] is so HAPPY at Busch Gardens! If you go during the Hollow-scream time in October, you will not regret it.

I didn't pay attention to what attractions King's Dominion had for smaller children; Busch Gardens has Dragon-something [Dragonworld? Dragonland? ] with lots of water and places to hop around etc.

Busch Gardens also has 2 virtual reality type rides that are fun for people such as myself who has a mortal fear of roller coasters.

In other words, I was bored at King's Dominion. Additionally, my husband and his buddy got STUCK for about 20 minutes at the top of their Drop Zone type ride while we could hear people screaming at the top of their lungs, "GET ME DOWN FROM HERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!" and the operators couldn't do a darn thing.

The food's better at Busch Gardens as well.

Richmond-ers would disagree, but I feel there's more to do in Hampton Roads than there is to do in the Doswell area. There's the beach, of course, and Colonial Williamsburg and Water Country USA and many many more fun things for families.

I have been to Hershey, but not to the amusement park, so unfortunately I'm no help there, but I can probably guess accurately that it may not be as HOT in PA as it is in Virginia.

I went to college in the Harrisburg area, and frankly, if I never go back to PA, that's fine with me. My great grandfather was a Mennonite from Lancaster County, before they moved to Illinois, and Milton S. Hershey was married to something like my great great aunt, but that didn't redeem Pennsylvania for me.

    Hope all this helps.
