An 8 point disadvantage and Real Madrid's ambition to win the league

The reigning champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 currently find themselves in quite a fix at the moment as they are already 8 points behind their primary competition in the Liga BBVA.

Although Real Madrid were able to completely overcome the Spanish La Liga last season, things seem to have altered a little bit as Barcelona is once again on top of the league standing’s table.
Los Blancos upkeep a reputation which very few football clubs in the world have managed to achieve. Deemed as the club of the century, the Spanish capital-based outfit has become a household name for football fans all over the world.
However, as successful as the club was in the past, Los Merengues have failed to emulate the same level of success in the past few years. Although the club have not remained completely deprived of a trophy, but they are clearly not the best team around either.
It was in the last season when the nine-time European champions managed to finally secure their 32nd La Liga trophy which took them 11 titles ahead of Barcelona. The silverware came with a break of 3 years, which were filled with trophies for
the Catalan giants.
It took a lot of effort for Jose Mourinho’s men to finally achieve the silverware in one of the best leagues in the world. Not only did Los Vikingos manage to win the Spanish La Liga, they did it in impeccable style.
The 2011/2012 campaign was one of the best seasons ever in the history of Spanish football and the Santiago Bernabeu outfit. The Madridistas managed to win the Liga BBVA with the highest number of points secured in the standings table, along with the highest
number of goals scored by a team.
Hence, the Spanish giants were able to send a message to their competitors as they enhanced their performance in the league.
However, the fact that Mourinho went on and on while praising his side’s performance may have jinxed Los Blancos as they have been unable to upkeep the same run of form this term.
Considering the fact that Madrid had completely demolished their opponents in almost every league fixture they played, it is not difficult to understand that experts had expected the same from them this time around as well.
Nevertheless, the Whites have experienced one of the worst starts to the new season’s campaign this year. Not only did they end their first match in a draw, Los Blancos were defeated in their second match of the season.
In addition to this, there was another defeat to follow which totaled their number of dropped points to 8.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 have maintained a rather impressive record as they have drawn only one match and have achieved victory in all the remaining games that they have played in the league so far. Hence, Tito Vilanova’s men have only dropped two points
and are sitting at the top of the table at the moment.
Even though, La Azulgrana boast a lead over Los Merengues, many believe that a comeback is quite possible.
Real Madrid have time on their side as it is only the beginning of the season which is likely to be ferociously competitive.
What spices things up a bit is the fact that both teams are no longer in position to drop any points, and hence football fans are in for a treat soon due to the massive competition.
