  1. Reason with him. I have an 8 yr old daughter, who also has tantrums from time to time. We have talked with her and set up guidleines. Such as, we give her a warningwhen she starts getting over excited, if she does not calm down we set her off by herself. It can help to give them a cool cloth or drink of water. Then talk about what they are feeling. Calmly. Sometimes at htis age I think they get so overcome by their emotions that they don't know what to do with all of the feelings, so they just sort of explode out of them. Just help him learn how to talk out his feelings...

  2. It sounds as though something is happening in school that is very upsetting to him.   I would definitely meet with his teacher to see if you can get to the bottom of the problem.   It's possible that he is being bullied by someone, and is expressing his own anger about this in the form of a tantrum.

If he starts losing control, I would take him on your lap and hug him as tightly as possible.  Tell him, "Mommy needs to help you get back in control of yourself."  Be very gentle and loving about this.   When he is quiet again, ask him "Is there something bothering you?  Can I help?"    Something very frustrating is going on in his life, and he needs to feel protected and understood.

  3. He has a bottom right? USE IT. I've always said spankings work wonders between ages 2-12, he's no where near to old.

  4. Go to school and talk to his teachers,

sounds like he's having issues in school.

    Maybe a bully?

  5. punish him or make him move schools. you could bribe him with sweets or something to make him stop... good luckXXX
