Denying that anything is wrong

Excepting what is given us by word of mouth

Peering into cupboards that are harder to fill

Reckoning this will go away

Eagerly denying that times are getting harder

Stutter stepping around the issues

Seizing hope in a weak grasp

Imagining that an answer is Earthly

Optimistically agreeing with bull f***s

Not seeing past tomorrow

  1. True

  2. How about a revelation of thought! And oh yes enjoyed your poem very much! It seems you hit the nail on the head with this poem! Good Job !!

  3. "that is something that needed to be written".

    Very creative, covered topic well.

bloody good my dear friend, bloody good. : )

    Good night All. :) ZZZzzzzzz.

  4. Revelation: Your feelings and sentiments are echoed on both sides of the pond. I don't know what, but, i sense something is about to happen.

  5. I enjoyed this very much. Depression is something I rarely feel, but SO many people suffer with it.

One teensy thing if I may? Second line, it ruins the acrostic but shouldn't excepting be "accepting?" (Or did I miss a different meaning somewhere?

  6. Everything you've written here is something I can relate to. "Times are getting harder..." Yes, they definitely are! I can only hope that things will start to look up from here. They say when you hit the bottom, the only way to go is up. Have we hit the bottom yet?

  7. Why is depression affecting so many people now?  Is it the economy? I have a "terminal" problem - but I try to keep my spirits up and not get depressed.  But it seems that YA now is full of depressed thinking.  Is it misery loves company?? Or - as Gideon has said - it feels like something is going to happen?? ♥
