it's not unlikely.

my guess would be though, that more families have one car on the street or in the driveway, and one in the garage.  The rest of the garage is taken up with whatever is the DIY "project of the day", some piece of furniture, or a boat in some stage of rebuild.

or 2 in the garage and 1 in the street.  something like that.

Typically. New York City is the only city in the US where you can truly get around to all parts of the city effectively without a car. You can use public transportation.

So, yes, most of America probably has 2 cars.
