well he must have stopped at some point... so i doubt its been 37 years...  

37yrs minus going to bed, stopping for work, food , toilet breaks  lol

its more how many miles the bike has covered

It's impressive, but I doubt its a record - lot's of folks who grew up in that era (born in the late 40's early 50's) kept things that worked and carried that belief with them.  My guess would be that bike is pre 1970's or VERY early 1970's -
