On one account of the computer there is a message for "Security Center 2009" and stuff pops up about how the computer is unprotected. Then the screen zooms in and a fake blue screen of death pops up. Finally it "dumps info" and a Microsoft XP loading page with the Security Center 2009 thing on it. Then everything is back to normal.

WTF is this and how do I get rid of it? It wasn't picked up by either of my Virus/Spyware Scanners and wasn't listed in the Add/Remove programs. HELP!!!!

  7. it is more than likely a scam. I have had similar issues with antvirus 2008. it tells you have all these viruses and risks yeah yeah I have that issue too. depending on what you have for security like Norton etc. go by what that tells you and not what the pop ups say. if u click on it it downloads that onto the computer with viruses attached. been there done that so don't click on it!

  9. boot into safe mode (F8 before the first XP screen). disable system restore and then run a full scan with your AV program. You may have to dump your temp files and cookies before you run. If you need more help go to here http://forums.whatthetech.com/forums.htm...

  10. Having more than one anti-virus software can cause your computer to do crazy things. You should uninstall one of them. The way it was explained to me is that the software attack each other making your computer act weird.

  11. WTF????? Could you be a little more clear? its all too confusing. Its probably not a virus.
