I have an albino clawed frog in an easy to care for 5 gallon tank, I keep it verry clean and feed him often, theres nothing he can hurt himself on in there and I'm verry confused...

So this morning when i fed him, he had both his little hands but when i can home from my sisters, I noticed his left tiny hand looks like its been knawed off or something, I dont know what happened. but its gone..and i looked in the botton, ( i have clear plastic rocks, easy to scout about in ) and his hand is just... gone.

what could have happened and do frog limbs grow back, will he die, do frogs go into shock.

please answer :( i feel just awful for him)

  1. As gross as it sounds his tissues could be rotting. I would go to the pet store and look at the medications they carry, and try to find something to treat him.

  2. it could be rot but he also could got it trapped and pulled it off or even bitten it off by himself (i assume he's in a tank by himself) i would get him checked ova by a herp vet keep a eye on the wound and clean everything in his tank (and the tank itself)
