An Overview of NFL Week 6 (Part 1)
Week 6 of the National Football League Regular Season featured 13 games in six days, from October 13 to 19.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears
The Seahawks defeated the Bears, 23-20, to make Seattle 3Wins-2Losses and Chicago 4W-2L. The Seahawks’ passing leader was Hasselbeck with 25 of 40 passing attempts for 242 yards and 1 TD. Rushing leader was Forsett with 10 carries for 67 yards and 1 TD.
Reception leader was Williams with 10 receptions for 123 yards.
The Bears’ passing leader was Cutler, with 17-39 attempts for 290 yards. Receiving leader was Taylor with 4 carries for 31 yards and receiving leader was Knox with 5 for 120 yards.
Seattle managed 353 offensive yards in their 34:23 of play, while Chicago played for 25:37 gaining 307 yards. Neither team had any turnovers.
Miami Dolphins vs. Green Bay Packers
The Dolphins defeated the Packers 23-20 in overtime, making Miami 3-2 and Green Bay 3-3. Passing leader for the Dolphins was Henne with 23-39 for 231 yards and 2 TDs. Rushing leader was Brown with 19 carries for 73 yards while Marshall was the receiving
leader with 10 receptions for 127 yards.
Packers’ passing leader was Rodgers with 18-33 for 313 yards and 1 TD. Jackson was the rushing leader with 12 carries for 53 yards. Receiving leader was Jennings with 6 receptions for 133 yards and 1 TD.
Each team had one turnover in the game and Miami had 381 yards in 37:56 of their possession time while Green Bay attained 359 yards in 28:03.
San Diego Chargers vs. St. Louis Rams
The Rams (3-3) defeated the Chargers (2-4) with a final score of 20-17. The Rams’ passing leader was Bradford with 18-31 for 198 yards and 1 TD. Rushing leader was Jackson with 29 carries for 109 yards and 1 TD while the leader is receptions was Alexander
with 4 for 72 yards and 1 TD.
San Diego’s passing leader was Rivers with 22-37 for 249 yards and 1 TD. Rushing leader was Mathews with 12 carries 64 yards while Crayton was the receiving leader with 6 receptions for 117 yards.
The Rams managed 300 offensive yards in their 33:23 of possession time with no turnovers while the Chargers had one turnover and 287 yards in 16:37 of play.
Baltimore Ravens vs. New England Patriots
The Ravens (4-2) lost to the Patriots (4-1) in overtime, 20-23. Baltimore’s passing leader was Flacco with 27-35 for 285 yards and 2 TDs. Rushing leader was Rice with 28 carries for 88 yards while receiving leader was Mason with 8 receptions for 100 yards.
Brady was New England’s passing leader with 27-22 for 292 yards and 1 TD. Woodhead has 11 carries for 63 yards to make him the rushing leader and the leader in receptions was Branch with 9 for 98 yards and 1 TD.
Baltimore attained 377 yards in 40:14 with no turnovers, while New England had 394 yards and 2 turnovers in 32:50 of possession time.
Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants
The Lions (1-5) fell to the Giants (4-2) with a final score of 20-28. Detroit’s passing and rushing leader was Stanton with 19 of 34 for 222 yards and 1 TD and also 3 carries for 30 yards. The leader in receptions was Johnson with 5 for 146 yards and 1 TD.
New York’s passing leader was Manning with 20-30 for 177 yards and 2 TDs. The rushing leader was Bradshaw with 19 carries for 133 yards while receiving leader was Smith with 6 receptions for 70 yards.
The Lions had 3 turnovers in their 27:18 of playing time and racked up 366 yards. The Giants had only one turnover and 334 yards in their 32:42 possession time.
