An Overview of NFL Week 8 (Part 1)
The NFL Regular Season featured many amazing and some rather strange games on this Halloween weekend, with most games on Sunday October 31, 2010 and one on Monday November 1, 2010.
Miami Dolphins vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Dolphins came up with a plan other than scoring touchdowns. For the second game in a row, Dolphins kicker, Dan Carpenter, kicked five field goals. The first game was rather unsuccessful, after a disputed play by Pittsburgh Steelers’ QB, Ben Roethlisberger,
but this time, it was a victory. Miami is now 4-3, with four wins on the road, while the Bengals are 2-5. The final score was 22-14, with Miami’s leading passer, Chad Henne, going for 24-37 for 217 yards. Ronnie Brown was the leading rusher with 16 carries
for 61 yards, while Brandon Marshall was the leader in receptions with 5 for 64 yards.
Cincinnati’s passing leader was Carson Palmer, going 17-38 for 156 yards and 2 TDs. The leading rusher was Cedric Benson, with 20 carries for 69 yards, while Terrell Owens was the leading receiver with 5 receptions for 65 yards and 2 TDs.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Jaguars (4-4) defeated the Cowboys (1-6) with a final score of 35-17, mostly due to David Garrard’s 4 TDs, pushing the Cowboys to their worst start in over 20 years. Jacksonville’s leading passer was Garrard, who went 17-21 for 260 yards and 4 TDs. Maurice
Jones-Drew was the leading rusher with 27 carries for 135 yards, while Mike Sims-Walker was the leader in receptions with 8 for 153 yards and 1 TD.

Washington Redskins vs. Detroit Lions
Ndamukong Suh, Calvin Johnson, and Matthew Stafford finally showed what they are capable in the Lions’ win over the Redskins, 37-25. The Redskins benched Donovan McNabb late in the game, with a hope that a two-minute offense would be successful, but it wasn’t.
The Redskins’ (4-4) top passer was McNabb with 17-30 for 210 yards and 1 TD and he was also the lead rusher with 4 carries for 45 yards. Anthony Armstrong led in receptions with 3 for 92 yards.
Detroit’s lead passer was Stafford with 26-45 for 212 yards and 4 TDs, while Kevin Smith led in rushing with 12 carries for 51 yards. Johnson led in receptions with 9 for 101 yards and 3 TDs.
