An Overview of NFL Week 9 (Part 1)

The NFL Regular Season Week 9 featured 13 games, 12 of which were on Sunday November the 7th, 2010, and one the next day, on Monday November 8th, 2010.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Buccaneers (5-3) lost to the Falcons (6-2), 21-27, mostly thanks to Michael Turner’s two rushing TDs. Tampa Bay’s Josh Freeman led in passing with 11-22 for 189 yards and 2 TDs. LeGarrette Blount was the rushing leader with 13 carries for 46 yards, while
Mike Williams led in receptions with 4 for 89 yards and 1 TD.
Atlanta’s Matt Ryan was the passing leader with 24-36 for 235 yards and 1 TD, while Turner was the rushing leader with 24 carries for 107 yards. Tony Gonzalez was the receiving leader with 8 receptions for 72 yards.
The Buccaneers managed to attain 278 offensive yards while giving up 2 turnovers in 25:54 of possession, while the Falcons racked up 365 yards with no turnovers in 34:06.
Tampa Bay scored 14 in the second quarter and 7 in the third, for a total of 21. Atlanta scored 7 in the first and 10 in both the second and third, totaling 27.
Chicago Bears vs. Buffalo Bills
The Bears (5-3) defeated the Bills (0-8), 22-19, giving the Bills the worst start in 26 years. For this game, both teams went up to Toronto to play at Rogers Stadium, with Chicago’s passing leader named as Jay Cutler with 17-30 for 188 yards and 2 TDs. Matt
Forte led in rushing with 14 carries for 49 yards, while  Earl Bennet was the leader in receptions with 11 for 145 yards.
Buffalo’s passing leader was Ryan Fitzpatrick with 31-51 for 299 yards and 1 TD, while C.J. Spiller led in rushing with 7 carries for 20 yards. Steve Johnson was the receiving leader with 11 receptions for 145 yards.
The Bears had 283 offensive yards and 1 turnover in 31:13 of play, while the Bills had 340 yards and gave up 3 turnovers in 28:47.
The Bears gained 7 points in both the second and third quarter, with 8 in the fourth, totaling 22. The Bills had 7 in the second quarter and 6 in both the third and fourth for a total of 19.
Bills kicker Rian Lindell ended his extra points kick streak at 321- the fourth longest in NFL history.
New England Patriots vs. Cleveland Browns
The Patriots (6-2) lost to the Browns (3-5), 14-34, in a victory that shocked teams and players alike. New England’s lead passer was Tom Brady with 19-36 for 224 yards and 2 TDs. Danny Woodhead led in rushing with 9 carries for 54 yards while Aaron Hernandez
led in receptions with 5 for 48 yards and 2 TDs.
Cleveland’s passing leader was Colt McCoy with 14-19 for 174 yards. Peyton Hillis led in rushes with 29 carries for 184 yards and 2 TDs, while Mohamed Massaquoi led in receiving with 4 receptions for 58 yards.
The Patriots had 283 offensive yards and gave up 3 turnovers in 21:52 while the Browns had 404 yards and only 1 turnover in 38:08.
New England scored 7 points in both the second and fourth quarter, while Cleveland scored 10 in the first and fourth, and 7 in the second and third.
