An Overview of NFL Week 9 (Part 3)
This is a continuation of the first and second parts of this article, discussing the 2010 NFL Regular Season Week 9.
Miami Dolphins vs. Baltimore Ravens
The Dolphins (4-4) lost to the Ravens (6-2), 10-26, thanks to the Ravens’ great defense. Miami’s top passer was Chad Henne, who threw 22-34 for 231 yards, while Ronnie Brown led in rushes with 9 carries for 59 yards and made the Dolphins’ only TD. Brian
Hartline was the receiving leader with 4 receptions for 85 yards.
Baltimore’s passing leader was Joe Flacco who went 20-27 for 266 yards and 2 TDs. Ray Rice was the leader in both rushes and receptions, with 22 carries for 83 yards and 7 receptions for 97 yards.
The Dolphins gained 289 offensive yards and gave up 3 turnovers in 21:38 possession time, while the Ravens managed 402 yards with no turnovers in 38:22.
The Dolphins scored their only TD for 7 in the first quarter, with an additional FG for 3 in the second, totaling 10. The Ravens made 7 points in both the first and third, with 6 in both the second and fourth.
San Diego Chargers vs. Houston Texans
The Chargers (4-5) defeated the Texans (4-4) with a final score of 29-33, with the Chargers winning their first game on the road. San Diego’s lead passer was Philip Rivers, who passed 17-23 for 295 yards and 4 TDs, while Ryan Mathews was the top rusher with
9 carries for 42 yards. Seyi Ajirotutu was the leader in receptions with 4 for 111 yards and 2 TDs.
Houston’s passing leader was Matt Schaub, who went 21-32 for 266 yards, while Arian Foster led in both rushing and receiving with 27 carries for 127 yards and 2 TDs and also 4 receptions for 70 yards.
The Chargers gained 367 offensive yards and gave up 2 turnovers in 26:11, while the Texans had 391 yards and 1 turnover in 33:49.
The Chargers scored 14 in the first quarter, 7 in the third, and 8 in the fourth, totaling 29, while the Texans scored 10 in both the first and second, and had a 3 point FG in the third, for a total of 23.
New York Giants vs. Seattle Seahawks
Thanks to Eli Manning’s 3 TD passes, the Giants (6-2) mauled the Seahawks (4-4) with a final score of 41-7. New York’s passing leader was Manning, going 21-32 for 290 yards and 3 TDs, while Brandon Jacobs led in rushing with 11 carries for 78 yards. Hakeem
Nicks led in receptions with 6 for 128 yards and 1 TD.
Seattle’s top passer was Charlie Whitehurst, who passed 12-23 for 113 yards and 1 Td. Marshawn Lynch led in rushes with 11 carries for 48 yards, while Ben Obomanu led in receiving with 1 reception for 36 yards and 1 TD.
The Giants racked up 487 offensive yards and only 1 turnover in 42:34, while the Seahawks had only 162 yards, one-third of the Giants’ yards, along with 3 turnovers in 17:26 of possession time.
New York scored 21 in the first quarter, 14 in the second, and 6 in the third, totaling 41, while Seattle scored their only TD for 7 in the fourth, for a total of 7.
