An Overview of NFL Week 9 (Part 4)
This is a continuation of the previous parts of this article, discussing the 2010 NFL Regular Season Week 9. This article is mainly for NFL fanatics, and non-fans are warned of extreme boredom.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders
The Chiefs (5-3) lost to the Raiders (5-4) in overtime, after the Raiders kicked a 3-point FG, 20-23. Kansas City’s passing leader was Matt Cassel, who threw 20-35 for 216 yards and 2 TDs. The rushing leader was Jamaal Charles with 10 carries for 53 yards,
while Dwayne Bowe led in receptions with 5 for 63 yards and 1 TD.
Oakland’s lead passer was Jason Campbell, going 19-33 for 229 yards and 1 TD, while Darren McFadden led in rushes with 17 carries for 89 yards. The receiving leader was Jacoby Ford, who had 6 receptions for 148 yards.
The Chiefs managed 304 offensive yards and gave up 2 turnovers in 33:10 of possession time, while the Raiders racked up 321 yards but gave up 3 turnovers in 29:43.
Kansas City scored 10 points in the second quarter, 3 in the third, and 7 in the fourth, for a total of 20. Oakland had 14 in the third, 6 in the fourth, and 3 in OT for a total of 23.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Colts (5-3) lost to the Eagles (5-3), 24-26, thanks to the return of Michael Vick to the Eagles, leading his team past Peyton Manning and his team. Indianapolis’ passing leader was Manning, who threw 31-52 for 294 yards and 1 TD, while Donald Brown led
in rushing with 15 carries for 50 yards. Jacob Tamme was the receiving leader, making 11 receptions for 108 yards and 1 TD.
Philadelphia’s lead passer was Vick, who threw 17-29 for 218 yards and 1 TD. LeSean McCoy was the rushing leader with 16 carries for 95 yards, while DeSean Jackson made 7 receptions for 109 yards and 1 TD, to make him the receiving leader.
The Colts managed 338 offensive yards but gave up 3 turnovers in 28:10 of play time, while the Eagles had 402 yards and no turnovers in 31:50.
The Colts made 17 points in the second quarter, and 7 in the fourth for a total of 24. The Eagles had 13 in the first, 3 in both the second and third, and 7 in the fourth, totaling 26.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers
The Cowboys (1-7) were humiliated once again, this time by the Packers (6-3), scoring only 7 points against the 45 points that the Packers had, for a final score of 7-45. Dallas’ top passer was Jon Kitna, who threw 19-30 for 193 yards and the Cowboys’ only
TD. The rushing leader was Felix Jones, with 5 carries for 16 yards, while Dez Bryant led in receptions with 9 for 86 yards and 1 TD.
Green Bay had a much better performance, with Aaron Rodgers going 27-34 for 289 yards and 3 TDs to be named passing leader. John Kuhn was the leader in rushing with 13 carries for 50 yards while James Jones led in receptions with 8 for 123 yards and 1 TD.
The Cowboys had a pitiful 205 offensive yards and gave up 4 turnovers in 22:04 possession time, while the Packers attained more than double that amount of yards with 415, and gave up no turnovers, in 37:56.
Dallas scored their only TD and PAT in the second quarter, for 7, totaling only 7. Green Bay gave an amazing performance, scoring 28 in the second, 7 in the third, and 10 in the fourth, for a total of 45.
