An account at bank of america?

my dad lives in a different state than i do

but can i still deposit money into his account if i have his account number?

or do i have to have his information too?

you can deposit money into any bank account you have the number for.  you don't need any more info but you do need a deposit slip.

In most cases you can make deposits at any location as long as you have his name and account number. There are instances, where you will be required to have the routing number of the area that your dad lives in, in order for them to make the deposit. It will really depend on how the bank is set up.
