An acting cover letter?

I'm 13 and I'm auditioning for a TV show. they said i needed a very brief cover letter, that stating that I'm interested in auditioning for an acting role. Whats a cover letter and how would i write that?

Heya,

A cover letter needs to let people know why you are contacting them. You need to include contact details and important things which are not in your resume. As you are only 13, you will really need your guardians to contact the casting team too.

Cover letter is one or two paragraphs simply stating what you have recently done.  

I did such and such and worked with so and so.  It was a huge learning exp.  My goal is to become a working class actor
