  1. She can get a TN visa just for the asking. Her profession is one of the one that is qualified under the NAFTA treaty that makes it easy for her to work in Canada. She only needs to find a job in Canada and have the employer give her an offer in writing. She may have to visit Canada for an interview to land the job.

Then when she moves, she only has to show up at the border with her offer letter and credentials and she can get a TN visa on the spot. It is good for one year but as long as she indicates she will some day return to the USA, she can get a new one every year for almost as long as she wants. Then in mean time, apply for regular immigration.

RNs from the USA are very welcome in Canada and vice versa. Just have her call any hospital in Canada, near where she plans to live, and chances are they will hire her on the spot.

Just do a web search for "TN VISA"

  2. www.cic.gc.ca

This is the website for all things concerning immigrations in Canada.  I don't know?  Maybe your friend could qualify for a skilled worker visa or maybe he has an eligible family member that could sponsor him.

Usually, nurses are going the other way because they get paid more in the States.  I'm sure this is not the reason your friend is looking to go to Canada though.

Emigrating to Canada can be a lengthy and expensive process but those who will be patient can come through at the end.
