do animals like cats and dogs get periods?

  1. Yes, its called a heat cycle. With a female cat, there will not alot of meowing, almost screaming. With dogs they actually bleed. and will probably wear diapers if you don't want her to stain anything.

  3. The female cats go into heat every few months, but I haven't noticed any bleeding. Female dogs do get periods and actually bleed a couple of times a year. Getting the animals spaid will prevent this in cats and dogs.

    no, they get seasons or heats.

    It's not the same as a period because their reproductive systems work differently to ours. A mare, *****, queen etc. will only be receptive to a male when she is in heat/season.

    A period is a totally different thing!

  6. Yes, but it is called a heat cycle.  Most female dogs and cats will not allow a male to breed them unless they are having their heat cycle.
