  1. You should try getting the students to make a diarama and include info in it. Its fun and informative!

  2. watch land before time?

  3. The dino dig idea is cool they have that at a local museum and my 4 yr old loves it. You could even try using plaster of paris to make fossils using leaves bones etc.

  4. couple of great ideas that have always worked for me in classrooms with children from age 2 and up usually only difference is the number of dinosaurs to locate or the size of the dinosaur toys you are using.

dinosaur dig -- using your indoor sand/water table either fill it with various material textures and hide the dinos in it or use sand/rice/or disoulveable peanuts and hide the dinos in them

water painting--draw a large dino on the ground or low wall with chalk or other material which will dissoulve with the water and allow the children to paint the dino using a variety of paint brushes and rollers.usually best as a summer activity

dinosaur track printing--use a sponge or potatoe carved with a "dinosaur " footprint and paint and allow the children to paint a dinsaur path with them

can also use large plastic dinos to do this with

dinosaur reading--choose a variety of dinosaur based stories and read them to the children--maybe even allow the children to hug some soft dinosaurs while you read

  5. How about a dino dig?  Fill a flat box with potting soil, add some   "bones" and "teeth"  to the mixture, tamp down, then let him "discover" his own dinosaur with a paintbrush.  Make your own fossils with seashells and clay or play dough, making impressions with some of the shells, and leaving some imbedded in the dough.

  6. Hello!  Here are some ideas that many children that age enjoy -

    1.  Read him Dinosaur storybooks.  One that kids always love is an old classic, "Danny and the Dinosaur", by Syd Hoff.  It should be available in your local library or bookstore.  It's a cute story about a little boy who adopts a friendly dinosaur of his own - very imaginative, informative, and makes dinosaurs seem a little less big and scary for the little guys!  Little Golden Books has some simple dinosaur storybooks with great pictures, too.

    2.  Your focus child could make a "Shapes Dinosaur" (craft project).  To do this you will need a piece of construction paper (any size), and some pre-cut circles, triangles, and squares - also from colorful construction paper - and a glue stick.  Have him create his own dinosaur - he'll have a lot of fun, too!  After it's finished, you could expand upon the experience by having him tell you about his dinosaur - what sound does it make, what did he name it, is it a big or a little dinosaur, what colors is it, etc.

  7. Hmm... okay... try look for those plastic dinosaur creatures and let him play with those. They're awesome for imagination.

Show him different pictures of dinosaurs and perhaps introduce colour, shape, size etc. (keeping his age in mind of course)

Maybe have a large picture of a dinosaur (on huge paper) and ask him to paint it. Kids love that!

    Well good luck!!

  8. There are a number of books regarding dinosaurs, why don't u try barney's books, website and stuff.
