  1. Yep it is possible. I gave up swimming competitvely and now do it socially and train as a lifeguard. I can do 40 lengths of a 33m pool in about half an hour.

  2. Really depends on the size of the pool doesn't it?

  3. Very possible. I can do 72 lengths in 53 minutes and I am slow.

  4. Yes, there's a guy at my pool who does more in less time.

    That's 25m lengths btw.

  5. oh yes

my mile swim time is like 21 mins (66 lengths)

  6. absolutely... I swim 66 laps in 20 minutes and 12 seconds... or I used to lol...competitive swimmers can usually swim OvEr 100 laps in an HOUR...

  7. yes it is possiable i can swim 60 lengths in 17:34.46 but the world record is much lower.

  8. Most I ever swam in 1 hour was 5000 metres (including a 3 x 1500m free set including rest), which was when I was doing some distance work in training (don't know why as I was a fly swimmer), this was in a 50m pool also which meant it was 100 lengths, but x 2, that would have been 200 lengths in a 25 metre pool, so 70 lengths is easily possible !

  9. Certainly is. My daughter, who is 13, swims the 1500m freestyle in 19 mins 39 seconds. She regularly swims about 5500m in a 2 hour training session.

  10. yes, a round about time for a high school age swim team player swims 500 yrds (20 lengths) in 6 mins.

  11. this is extremely possible considering that 1mile is equal to 66 lengths. i can swim this in about 18 min. This of course is in a 25 yard pool and 1 length is equal to 1 25 yard lap. (so just there, not "there and back"

  12. Yes that is definitely possible, I've swam 40 laps in under 11 minutes and I know people who break 10.  Considering 40 is more than half of 70 and it is possible to do it in 10 min and under, than it is definitely possible, and potentially no that difficult, to swim 70 laps in 65 minutes.  It actually would probably somewhat annoying to go that slow, but yeah it's definitely possible, unless this aquaintance doesn't know how to swim

  13. 70 lengths is equal to 1750 yards. Of course this is possible, when i swam for my high school team we had to swim 3000 yards in 45 minutes
