An archaic word/term for receiving a beating/beating someone up?

Does anyone know if there is an old-fashioned word for 'beating someone up' or 'giving/receiving a beating'? Thanks!

  1. To beat up someone is to "throttle" them.

    A fight with someone is a "donnybrook" or "fisticuffs".


  2. Getting or giving a "l*****g" or a "drubbing"

  3. well depends on where u r from...i.e. like down here in the south the people would say "boy, i'm bout ready to tan ya hide" or there is also 'u ready to get belted' or my personal fave ' u know what? here comes my two good buddies, mr left then his friend mr. right" hope this helps

  4. Giving someone a "lacing".
